They say there ain’t no rest for the wicked, but you’re not wicked, are you? I hope not. How many of you feel like you can’t catch a break? Anyone? I thought so. If it’s any consolation, I’m right there with you. It’s my last semester of undergrad and it seems like my to do list is never ending. I get one thing done and then before I know it, I have twenty more things to do. So why am I telling you this? For one simple reason: rest.

Often times we forget how important it is to take a minute and breathe. Smell the coffee. Relax. Leave your office, tub, or wherever you work. (Bet you’re wondering why I put tub, but that’s where I’m most productive in doing work.  😛 ) There’s a whole other world outside of your spreadsheets and projects. Go enjoy it!

I know, I know. You don’t have time. I understand. “I’m sorry, I’m too busy,” used to be my motto. That was before I understood that I’m actually more productive after I take a break. It allows my mind to breath and then I can come back to my work refreshed and more open minded. It actually seemed to improve my work as opposed to when I tried to keep myself in the tub all day to hammer out every assignment possible. Remember, even God rested on the seventh day after finishing his work.

So if there is one thing you take from this, I hope that it’s you remembering to breath. Life is so much more than that one assignment, task or project that you’re working on right now. Everything is going to work out. Just breathe. And if you’re in need of help with that, turn to God.

Have a blessed day!
